Smoke Strobist Setup
This is the setup for the smoking shots with 2 SB-26 with snoots (so the light wont enter the lens) and PW, as close as possible to the incense stick, an incense stick and a plate under it so it wont burn anything, in case it falls for some reason, tripod for the camera and a black background (bought at a nearby store for 1,00 Euro), tuns the lights off and keep shooting until the incense burns out, repeat procedure until you cant stand no more the smell of the incense :)
Keep the room a little ventilate so it would not have too much smoke or else you do not get much detail and you do not fall over with the smell :)
When you photograph this Smokey things theyll turn out kind of a blueish smoke on black background sometimes could be boring and dull after 300 shots of the same thing... but then,
on Photoshop, you invert or not the image and use the Hue/Saturation to create colors of the image, also could use lasso tool on certain parts to give different colors to the smoke.
Give wings to your imagination on this...

Bairro Alto de Lisboa
These streets have a charm on their own. I spent the evening walking through them. It may not seem so, but I felt silence, a lot of calm, and a feeling, as if life just flows.
Estas calles tienen un encanto especial por sí mismas. Estuve la tarde andando por ellas. Pudiera no parecerlo, pero sentí silencio, mucha calma, ... y un sentimiento, como que la vida simplemente fluye.

At the Palace
Cars parked at the Palace Hotel in Lisbon. All show spanish registration plates. Lisbon is full of citizens from the neighbour country, enjoying the Bank Holliday.

Father and boy at Lisboa
This image is the pure expression of the life: the reproduction, the descent, the care of our genes. The training of our offspring. The amusement. The education. The The life is perpetuated until the infinite. The alive beings we are not but that an infinite load of life, which it began in an ancient moment, and remains during million and million of years, adapting, mutating, being reinforced. Curious thing, The Life.
Few things are more tender that to observe a father running and playing with his "puppy". Returning to be a child, and living again through the experiences through that he lived being a small boy.
And if this occurs in the incomparable frame of the Plaça do Comercio of Lisbon, with its impressive views to the Tajo, its buildings, absolutely used, but alive and attractive, and its romanticism perspired by every centimeter of its stoned streets… then, the image is definitively a delight to watch.

Y si esto se observa en el marco incomparable de la Plaça do Comercio de Lisboa, con sus impresionantes vistas al Tajo, sus edificios, absolutamente usados, pero vivos y atractivos, y su romanticismo transpirado por cada centímetro de sus empedradas calles… entonces, la imagen es definitivamente una delicia.

Is the oldest district of Lisbon, spreading on the slope between the Castle of Lisbon and the Tejo river. Its name comes from the Arabic Al-hamma, meaning fountains or baths. It contains many important historical attractions, with many Fado bars and restaurants. (keep reading at the Wikipedia)
Alfama es el barrio más antiguo de Lisboa. Esta lleno de pequeños bares y restaurantes donde se puede comer maravillosamente bien. Dispone de algunos miradores con espectaculares vistas sobre el resto de Lisboa. Personalmente considero que Lisboa es una ciudad que no puede dejar de visitarse. Es encantadora.

One of my favorite places to photograph near Lisbon. Found it by accident, but it revealed it self as an astonishingly place, as it has several shipwrecks lying around on the mud waiting to be eaten by the water and time just waiting to be photographed.
I promised my Portuguese Flickr Friends that I would take them there in the near future. This picture contains an hint of the location (look closely). I hope you like it.
Next time I go there I hope to take my Flickr Friends.

Lisbon in blue and green
No car today, had to be fixed. I was supposed to use the bus and the subway, but I'm not used to it, don't even know where the stops are and where to buy the tickets. I feel like a foreigner in my own city when this happens. The only way to feel at home again was to forget about buses and walk. That's what I did, with my camera, of course. My feet still hurt. This is on my way to the university (doing a PhD when I'm not working or photographing...). It's a kind of our central park, right in the city center. You can still see a small portion of the Tagus river in the background.
I'm glad the car had to be fixed today...
